Job Purpose
To provide strong engineering support to the Packaging Team in equipment repairs, maintenance, and related engineering works while maintaining high standards of quality and workplace safety. The role includes leading maintenance technicians, optimizing equipment performance and reliability to achieve high packaging output, and contributing innovative ideas for continuous improvement of plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take personal responsibility for workplace safety and support the company's safety policies and corporate safety goals in all maintenance and engineering activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repair works on packaging machines and plant equipment to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operations.
- Support the installation, setup, commissioning, and fine-tuning of new equipment, including participation in product trial runs and process validation.
- Supervise external contractors during maintenance and repair works to ensure compliance with safety requirements, company procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair, and calibration activities for weigh scales, controllers, and other instruments.
- Manage spare parts inventory, coordinate purchasing when required, and maintain adequate stock levels to support maintenance operations.
- Provide technical support for packaging handling systems such as Form-Fill-Seal (FFS), FIBC, robotic systems, conveyor systems, and other plant operational equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, control system requirement analysis, and departmental meetings to support operational efficiency and plant reliability.
- Ensure proper housekeeping standards, tool management, and effective waste and scrap management in all work areas.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, coordinate with vendors when necessary, support incident investigations, and perform other duties as assigned by Management.

- Ensure high machine uptime with minimal major equipment failures that could disrupt or stop plant production.
- Complete assigned maintenance, engineering, and improvement projects within agreed timelines.
- Contribute innovative and practical ideas to support continuous improvement of plant equipment, ensuring reliability and ease of maintenance.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related disciplines) is preferred.
- Candidates with a Diploma or ITE qualification and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Industrial Automation or related fields are also encouraged to apply.
- At least two (2) years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of packaging and conveying equipment.
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming and control systems.
- Experience in programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), particularly using Allen-Bradley or Siemens platforms, will be an added advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
