Systems Specialist (Mainframe Backup & Storage)
Responsibilitie
- sAdminister and maintain mainframe backup systems, including CA-1
- .Manage and support IBM z/OS operating systems and JCL (Job Control Language)
- .Maintain tape management systems and automated tape libraries
- .Support backup infrastructure including Data Domain, ECS, Hitachi CGX, and tape libraries
- .Perform system patching, upgrades, hardening, and configuration
- .Monitor backup system performance and storage capacity
- .Troubleshoot backup, storage, and system-related issues
- .Work closely with vendors to resolve hardware and software incidents
- .Review system logs and participate in technical exercises and disaster recovery activities
.Requirement
- sMinimum 3–5 years of experience supporting mainframe backup environments
- .Hands-on experience with CA-1 Tape Management System
- .Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS and JCL
- .Experience with DASD, tape storage, and virtual storage concepts
- .Familiarity with automated tape libraries and backup infrastructure
- .Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- .Able to support after-office hours and weekend activities when required
- .Good communication and stakeholder management skills
.Preferre
- dExperience with Data Domain, ECS, Hitachi CGX, or similar backup platforms
- .Experience in banking, government, or large enterprise environments
- .Exposure to disaster recovery and business continuity operations
