Set up machining fixtures, tooling and inserts for turning, grinding or milling.
Measure, mark and scribe dimensional and reference points on materials.
Determine datum for locating parts not previously in production.
Align fixtures and cutting tools.
Set specified rotation speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
Machine part while monitoring cutting action of machine to detect excessive wear or malfunction.
Perform pressure testing as required.
Use indicators, calipers, venires, micrometers and gauges to check work and verify conformance of finished part to specifications.
Request on-machine inspections as required.
Perform TPM'S.
Report nonconformance's related to parts, paper work, equipment, tooling or materials to the immediate Cell Leader.
Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area.
Qualifications:
At least 1 - 3 years machining experience in Aerospace environment
NITEC / Higher NITEC / Technical Certificate in Mechanical / Precision Engineering or equivalent
Able to perform basic shop math, read, write, and interpret English.
Basic mechanical skills, effectively utilize lifting devices, ability to interpret travelers and work instructions, ability to verify log and procedures for accuracy.
