About The Role
We are looking for a Machine Learning Intern to join our growing ML team and contribute to our mission of fighting climate change through AI. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge GenAI and traditional ML techniques while working on meaningful sustainability problems.
As part of our Machine Learning team, you&aposll work on real projects that directly impact our product. You&aposll be mentored by experienced ML engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and sustainability experts. This internship offers exposure to both traditional ML systems and modern GenAI applications in a fast-growing climate tech startup.
What You Will Work On
- Contribute to building AI agents that help sustainability professionals automate emissions calculations, extract insights and generate reports
- Work on improving our carbon engine through data analysis, software development and transformer-based model experimentation
- Assist in developing LLM-powered workflows that process sustainability documents and extract key insights
- Support the implementation and testing of ML models in production environments
- Participate in research projects exploring new approaches to carbon accounting and decarbonization recommendations
- Help build evaluation frameworks for AI systems to ensure quality and reliability
About You
- You are pursuing a Bachelor&aposs or Master&aposs degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
- You are proficient in Python, SQL and familiar with ML libraries (transformers, langchain, pandas, numpy)
- You have academic or project experience with machine learning concepts and are curious about GenAI/LLMs
- You are eager to learn about production ML systems and modern AI techniques
- You can work independently on well-defined tasks while knowing when to ask for help
- You enjoy collaborative work and are excited about applying AI to solve climate challenges
- You have strong communication skills and can explain technical concepts clearly
- You are detail-oriented and committed to writing clean, maintainable code
BONUS POINTS IF
- You have experience building AI agents and LLM-based workflows through coursework or personal projects
- You have previously worked on evaluating LLM-based systems or model performance
- You have worked with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) or have a strong GitHub portfolio
- You have domain knowledge or interest in sustainability, environmental science, or climate tech
