The M&E Engineer manages the planning and development of projects.
He/She develops mechanical and/or electrical engineering designs based on project requirements, from conceptual to schematic and detailed designs.
He/She is responsible for designing mechanical and electrical systems.
He/She conducts project assessments and is able to provide feasible and creative solutions based on the assessment results.
He/She participates in the tendering process and assists with the projects costs and budgets.
He/She is meticulous, highly detail-oriented and has a keen interest in incorporating new technologies into engineering design projects.
He/She possesses excellent knowledge in mechanical and/or electrical engineering fields, is analytical and has good problem-solving skills.
He/She also possesses strong interpersonal and project coordination skills crucial for engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
He/She is required to work both in the office and at project sites.
Job Description
Review the client/subcontractor's technical specifications and drawings.
Manage M&E works on site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budgets and timelines.
Prepare reports on progress, delays, defects and rectification measures.
Resolve M&E coordination / technical issues on site.
Conduct feasibility studies and propose solutions to relevant stakeholders based on the studies.
Develop detailed designs taking into consideration project requirements, technical aspects, relevant codes and standards, as well as good practices.
Perform simulation modelling and analyses.
Manage design changes and services coordination.
Develop submissions to authorities or agencies for all project stages.
Develop shop drawings, installation methods, as well as equipment and materials schedules for relevant stakeholders approval.
Oversee testing and commissioning for successful project handovers.
Liaise with contractors to resolve defect issues.
Develop handover documents.
Liaise with authorities and agencies for close-out inspections.
Track work progress.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders to resolve variations and liquidated damages.
Job Requirements
Recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical or equivalent.
Knowledge of mechanical services and familiarity with the local code of practice.
Able to read and interpret plumbing, sanitary, ACMV layouts and schematics.
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the Construction Industry.
Knowledge of plumbing and sanitary system installation is preferred.
