Job Summary
Prepare and coordinate Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works schedules and drawings to ensure compliance with authorities and project requirements. Monitor installation, conduct inspections, and resolve design and construction issues to support smooth project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare M&E works schedules aligned with the project master schedule to ensure timely progress
- Monitor shop drawings and material submissions for accuracy and completeness
- Verify M&E drawings comply with authorities requirements to maintain regulatory standards
- Identify and highlight discrepancies or conflicts between M&E, architectural, and structural drawings to prevent construction issues
- Prepare detailed progress reports to track project status and inform stakeholders
- Coordinate with sub-contractors and project teams to resolve design and construction issues and ensure smooth work delivery
- Monitor installation work to confirm adherence to coordinated plans and specifications
- Conduct inspections and testing of building works, documenting inspection records for verification by RE/RTO
- Follow up on rectification work and other necessary corrective actions to maintain quality standards
- Ensure all sub-contractors provide drawings as per coordinated requirements to maintain project consistency
- Guide M&E supervisors on site work to align with coordinated plans and project objectives
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Specialist Diploma in M&E Coordination is advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an M&E Coordinator in a local construction firm
- Good knowledge of local standards and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
