M&E Building Manager (Retail Mall, East)

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Property Manager to keep the mall running, taking charge of overall building maintenance and operational excellence.

• Lead the Engineering team to foster a positive, collaborative, and highly efficient dynamic on the ground.

• Stay ahead of equipment upkeep by managing preventive maintenance schedules and keeping service contractors accountable to high standards.

• Take ownership of M&E systems (especially ACMV), troubleshooting issues promptly, handling feedback with care, and keeping equipment running at target efficiency.

• Champion safety, sustainability, and risk management, ensuring the center consistently complies with internal policies and local authority codes.

• Handle official regulatory submissions smoothly and maintain strong working relationships with relevant authorities and external vendors.

• Keep track of operational metrics, prepare clear management reports, and assist with building enhancement and upgrading projects.

• Apply sound financial judgment to assist with operational budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Operations, or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in retail mall management or commercial building operations.

• Strong technical background in M&E systems, with specific expertise in ACMV and familiarity with Green Mark building standards.

• Practical understanding of local codes of practice, submission procedures, and FSSD regulations (knowledge of MCST operations is a bonus).

• Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Office and a genuine interest in adopting digital tools for facility management.

• Natural problem-solver with a strong focus on risk management and operational safety.

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

• Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to stay cool and effective in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Open to supporting operational emergencies or key maintenance tasks outside regular office hours when needed.
