Overview

Join our Asia Marketing & Business Development team at the heart of a leading international law firm. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career in professional services marketing and business development, with comprehensive training and strong support from a close‑knit regional team.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of legal practices and sectors, work closely with senior stakeholders across Asia and globally, and develop the skills needed for a long‑term career in M&BD. We are looking for someone who is proactive, curious and keen to learn.

Main purpose of the role

Working closely with lawyers (including partners in Asia and globally) and members of the M&BD team, this role supports the planning and delivery of marketing and business development initiatives across our Asia offices.

Main duties & responsibilities

Develop practice and sector knowledge

  • Build and maintain a good understanding of our APAC practices, sectors and service offerings. In particular within the financial institution sector.
  • Invest time in learning about our capabilities so you can act as a knowledgeable point of contact within the M&BD team.

Tactical M&BD delivery

  • Deliver and support high‑quality, targeted M&BD initiatives, including:
  • marketing and communications materials
  • client events and hospitality
  • legal directory and award submissions.
  • Ensure all activities are aligned with our brand and business objectives.

Profile raising, communications and CRM

  • Contribute to internal and external communications plans for the APAC offices (including digital channels).
  • Support implementation of campaigns and initiatives to raise the firm's profile.
  • Help identify speaking, advertising and media opportunities (working with our retained PR agency and central Communications team).
  • Support use and maintenance of our CRM and related tools.

Winning new work

  • Assist fee earners and the M&BD team with tenders and pitches, including:
  • managing logistics and timelines
  • gathering relevant information and credentials
  • drafting and tailoring written responses.

Engagement with the M&BD Hub

  • Work with the central (international) marketing teams and APAC fee earners to develop content for factsheets, webpages and intranet pages.
  • Brief the marketing operations and creative (design) team clearly and effectively, and act as a conduit between fee earners and the delivery team.
  • Perform a quality assurance role on materials produced by the central team and provide regular feedback to support continuous improvement and best practice.

Supporting international engagement

  • Assist with the execution of international projects and campaigns, working with colleagues across Asia and the wider international business.

Person specification - Essential

  • University degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Media, Law or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in an international law firm or other professional services organisation, with 1-2 years experience in M&BD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SharePoint.
  • Organised, with good prioritisation and basic project management skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility. Able to take the lead on initiatives without constant oversight.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including across different time zones.
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow processes and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
  • Genuine interest in marketing and business development in a professional services environment.

Person specification - Desirable

  • Knowledge of financial institutions, with an understanding of their service offering and the opportunities within.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to hand over work clearly for others to complete.
  • Familiarity with M&BD technology (e.g. AI LLMs, InterAction CRM, IntroHive, Vuture or similar email marketing tools).
  • Familiarity with law firm technology (e.g. iManage, SharePoint or similar document management systems).
  • Commercial awareness and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to suggest and implement improvements to existing processes.
