Job Summary
Coordinate and monitor M&E works to ensure compliance with project schedules and authorities requirements. Lead sub-contractor coordination, resolve design and construction issues, and oversee inspections to support successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare M&E work schedules aligned with the project master schedule to ensure timely progress
- Monitor shop drawings and material submissions to maintain project standards
- Verify M&E drawings for compliance with authorities requirements to ensure regulatory adherence
- Identify and highlight discrepancies or conflicts between M&E drawings and architectural or structural elements to prevent design issues
- Prepare progress reports to document project status and inform stakeholders
- Coordinate between sub-contractors and project teams to resolve design and construction issues and ensure smooth work delivery
- Monitor installation work to confirm alignment with coordinated plans and quality standards
- Conduct inspections and testing of building works, documenting records upon verification by RE/RTO to ensure quality control
- Follow up on rectification work and other necessary tasks to maintain project standards
- Monitor sub-contractors submission of drawings as per coordinated requirements to ensure consistency
- Guide M&E supervisors on site work according to coordinated plans to support effective execution
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Specialist Diploma in M&E Coordination is advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an M&E Coordinator in a local construction firm
- Knowledge of local standards and requirements relevant to M&E coordination
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration
