About the Role

Carousell Luxury is looking for a detail-oriented Luxury Goods Appraiser to join our Merchandising team in Singapore. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and authenticity of the luxury items we acquire. You will be at the forefront of our authentication process, playing a key part in building trust with our sellers and customers.

This position involves hands-on work with high-value items, requiring a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of luxury products, particularly handbags. You'll contribute to operational efficiency, support inventory acquisition, and help maintain our reputation for excellence in the luxury resale market.

What You Will Do

  • Support the merchandising team with the acquisition and authentication of luxury goods.
  • Conduct market research on top luxury products to provide pricing guidance for acquisitions.
  • Manage the end-to-end verification and authentication process for incoming inventory.
  • Meet with sellers to perform final authentication checks on luxury items.
  • Negotiate with sellers for the acquisition of inventory.
  • Perform quality control checks on all incoming inventories.
  • Research new model releases to expand our internal knowledge base.
  • Deliver product training sessions to enhance the team's ability to identify counterfeit features.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality control and authentication assessments.
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects within the Operations team.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Logistics and Warehouse Operations.
  • Leverage AI tools to streamline the initial assessment of product authenticity and condition.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience handling and authenticating luxury goods, especially handbags.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with sellers and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and process new information efficiently.
  • A meticulous, detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on process.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A positive, can-do attitude coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
  • A good team player who can also work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in using AI-powered tools to aid in authentication research and data analysis.
  • Comfortable with sales duties, including engaging with customers on the sales floor and managing consignment.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays as needed.
