Description and Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and operate Cisco 9000 series switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortigate firewalls, Aruba access points, and Aruba ClearPass.
- Set up, manage, and troubleshoot VPN solutions (IPSec/SSL) across Fortigate and Palo Alto platforms.
- Perform network setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure high availability and security.
- Support network tech refresh projects, including hardware/software upgrades and migrations.
- Implement and maintain network security best practices, including firewall policies, NAC, and vulnerability remediation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application and system integration with network infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
- Provide on-call support and perform patches/upgrades during approved maintenance windows.
- Assist with system-related tasks such as Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware/Nutanix), and backup solutions when required.
- Participate in audits, compliance reporting, and inventory management using ITSM tools.
Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Cisco 9000 series switches, Palo Alto firewalls, FortiGate firewalls, Aruba access points, and Aruba ClearPass.
- Strong knowledge of VPN setup and management (IPSec, SSL).
- Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux/Unix systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Nutanix).
- Experience with backup/recovery tools (e.g., Commvault, NetBackup).
- Exposure to patch management tools (e.g., BMC, WSUS).
- Prior work experience in a regulated environment preferred.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
- Palo Alto Networks certifications (e.g., PCNSA, PCNSE).
- Fortinet certifications (e.g., NSE4, NSE5).
- Aruba certifications (e.g., ACMA, ACCA, ClearPass Specialist).
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE).
- VMware/Nutanix certifications (VCP, NCP).
- ITIL Foundation.
