JOB SUMMARY

The Lorry Crane Driver is responsible for operating and driving cranes mounted on lorries to transport and lift construction materials. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials to various construction sites, adhering to safety protocols, and performing routine inspections and maintenance on the crane. The ideal candidate will possess a valid crane operator's license, demonstrate excellent driving skills, and have a strong understanding of safety regulations within the construction industry. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as the Lorry Crane Driver will collaborate closely with site supervisors and ground crews.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate and drive lorry cranes to transport materials and equipment to and from construction sites.

2. Safely load and unload materials using the crane, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

3. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the lorry crane to ensure proper functioning and safety equipment is in place.

4. Follow site instructions and coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to fulfill transportation needs.

5. Maintain accurate records of materials transported, including weights and delivery locations.

6. Communicate effectively with ground crew and other personnel to coordinate loading and unloading of materials.

7. Ensure the crane operates within its specified limits and adheres to all health and safety regulations.

8. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the crane as needed.

9. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly

REQUIREMENTS

1. Valid lorry crane driver's license or equivalent certification.

2. Proven experience as a lorry crane driver in a construction environment.

3. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to crane operation and site safety.

4. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including maps and job specifications.
