Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Logistics Planner to drive daily scheduling, network planning, and route optimization for our chartered bus fleet. In this role, you will balance client booking requests against vehicle capacity and driver rest cycles to build safe, cost-efficient, and dependable transit timetables. You will serve as the strategic bridge between our sales team, workshop mechanics, and frontline bus captains.
Roles & Responsibilities
Fleet Scheduling & Route Optimization
Build, maintain, and publish daily, weekly, and monthly master schedules for all corporate charters, school bus runs, and ad-hoc transit jobs.
Design turn-by-turn route sequences that avoid ERP gantries where feasible, circumvent known peak-hour choke points, and minimize dead mileage between trips.
Consolidate passenger manifests to adjust bus capacity allocation (e.g., matching 13-seater minibuses versus 45-seater coaches to actual headcount requirements).
Manage driver duty rotations to maintain strict compliance with statutory maximum driving hours, mandatory rest periods, and shift limits under the Singapore Employment Act.
Real-Time Dispatch & Operational Disruption Management
Monitor live vehicle telematics, GPS tracking dashboards, and TrafficWatch feeds to detect road incidents, congestion, or vehicle breakdowns in real time.
Execute dynamic route diversions and dispatch standby buses or relief drivers to minimize pickup delays during heavy traffic or emergency disruptions.
Coordinate with workshop mechanics and the fleet maintenance team to align routine servicing and Land Transport Authority (LTA) vehicle inspection schedules with low-demand operational windows.
Analytics, Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
Track and evaluate core Fleet KPIs, including On-Time Arrival (OTA) rates, empty-run mileage, fuel consumption trends, and driver idle time.
Analyze historical booking cycles to forecast seasonal capacity demands across school holidays, festive seasons, and peak corporate conference periods.
Recommend operational enhancements to upper management that lower fuel expenditure, balance driver workload, and improve asset turnaround times.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with corporate clients, school administrative coordinators, and private event planners to confirm pickup points, staging areas, and schedule adjustments.
Maintain professional, daily communication with bus drivers to brief them on special charter instructions, route changes, and road safety advisories.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Economics, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in transport logistics, bus fleet dispatching, or passenger scheduling within Singapore.
Geographical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Singapore expressway networks (PIE, AYE, CTE, SLE, etc.), industrial estates, and corporate business parks (e.g., Jurong Island, Tuas, Changi Business Park, One-North).
Technical Skills:
High proficiency with fleet management systems (FMS), GPS telematics dashboards, and route planning applications.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, schedule modeling).
Core Competencies:
Decisive problem-solving capabilities to handle unexpected delays, bad weather, or road closures calmly under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with frontline drivers and corporate clients.
Willingness to support operational escalations during morning peak hours or weekend charter events when necessary.
