A Logistics Operations Executive coordinates daily supply chain activity. They oversee order fulfilment, manage transport logistics, maintain inventory accuracy, and liaise with freight forwarders. Their primary goal is to ensure cost-efficient, timely deliveries while resolving shipping issues and supporting customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport & Delivery: Plan and optimize delivery routes, coordinate with drivers, and collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Shipping & Documentation: Prepare and verify import/export shipping documents, manage customs clearances, and track vessel/flight schedules.
- Inventory & Warehouse: Monitor stock levels, uphold inventory integrity, and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate picking, packing, and loading.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and suppliers to negotiate rates and resolve payment or service discrepancies.
- Customer Service & Problem Solving: Act as the primary point of contact for order tracking, manage service recovery, and resolve delivery delays.
- Reporting & Compliance: Maintain operational records, process performance reports, and ensure all processes comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in shipping documentation, freight forwarding, or warehouse operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
