Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Logistics Manager to oversee all warehouse and transportation operations for our pet food distribution business in Singapore. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient inventory flow, accurate order fulfillment, and reliable delivery performance while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Lead and manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Implement efficient warehouse layout, material handling processes, and stock rotation practices (FIFO/FEFO).
- Oversee inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and stock audits.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with AVS and SFA guidelines where applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
Transportation & Distribution
- Plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment across Singapore.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) partners, transport vendors, and courier services.
- Monitor delivery performance metrics and implement corrective actions to reduce delays or service issues.
- Ensure fleet or partner vehicles comply with quality and safety requirements for transporting pet food products.
Operational Management & Compliance
- Develop and update SOPs for warehouse and logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
- Manage logistics budgets, including warehouse costs, transportation expenses, and vendor contracts.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to drive productivity, cost efficiency, and service quality.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor warehouse staff and drivers, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably in FMCG or food distribution.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning, inventory management, and WMS/ERP systems.
- Hands-on leader with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and vendor management skills.
- Forklift license or experience managing Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations is an advantage.
