Position Overview:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics process within the company. This includes managing the supply chain, warehousing, inventory, transportation, and distribution activities to ensure products and services are delivered to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational management, and leadership to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee the flow of goods and materials through the supply chain, ensuring that every step of the logistics process is smooth, from procurement to delivery.

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure that stock is maintained at optimal levels, preventing overstock or stockouts.

  • Transportation Management: Oversee the transportation operations, including managing third-party logistics providers, negotiating freight rates, and ensuring timely deliveries.

  • Warehouse Operations: Ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse, including proper storage, inventory control, and dispatch of goods.

  • Team Management: Lead and manage logistics staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.

  • Cost Control: Develop and implement strategies to reduce logistics costs without compromising service quality or efficiency.

1. Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Oversee the entire supply chain process, coordinating between suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure timely delivery of goods.

4. Cost and Budget Management:

  • Analyze shipping and transportation expenses and make recommendations for improvement.

5. Staff and Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor logistics staff, setting goals and performance metrics for the team.

7. Technology Integration:

8. Customer Interaction:

  • Work with customer service teams to resolve any logistics-related issues, ensuring that customers receive accurate, timely deliveries.

  • Handle returns or issues regarding damaged goods, ensuring that problems are dealt with swiftly and professionally.

9. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, cost per shipment, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

  • Generate reports to track logistics performance and make recommendations for improvements.

1. Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management (typically 3-5 years for managerial roles).
