The Logistics Analyst is responsible for coordinating and executing various tasks related to the flow of materials, products, services, and associated systems information.
Duties involve but are not limited to supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-the-job training to team members in operational functions, following established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Share knowledge and best practices, offering guidance and setting a positive example through demonstrations and hands-on practices.
- Monitor the completion statuses of daily operational tasks and provide updates to the Manager.
- Identify and implement service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and develop cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Collaborate with inventory control teams to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers to ensure smooth operational execution, resolution of transportation challenges to ensure timely shipment deliveries.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma, preferably in Logistics / Supply Chain Management.
- At least 5 years experience in manufacturing and warehouse environments, with a strong understanding of inventory management and materials movement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, stock control processes and ERP systems.
- Familiar with fundamental packing and shipping techniques to ensure the safe transportation of materials.
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to company safety rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in using appropriate tools, processes, and techniques for materials handling, ensuring materials are managed efficiently and securely.
- Strong numerical aptitude for accurately performing tasks such as counting, measuring, and verifying quantities.
- Basic knowledge of Oracle and Agile systems is plus, contributing to effectively utilising digital tools for materials management.
- Possession of a forklift license is an added advantage.
