We are looking for speech therapists to work with our patients in community settings such as nursing homes, day rehab centres, transitional care facilities.

Role Description

As a Locum Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for providing speech therapy services to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.

The Speech and Language Therapist at GentleCare

responsible for evaluating and treating adult patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. The role involves creating treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to support patient well-being.

Responsibilities include:

- assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders - recommending appropriate diet and fluids in accordance to IDDSI (MOH EatSafe) standards to minimise incidence of aspiration pneumonia

- teaching appropriate exercises to patients with rehab potential to optimise swallowing and communication function

- Education/ info-counselling to patients, caregivers, nursing/ care staff

- Work collaboratively with the MDT

Qualifications

• At least 4 years clinical experience working with adults in hospitals or community healthcare institutions in Singapore
• AHPC certified (full reg)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Adaptable, flexible, good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively alone and also in a multi-disciplinary team
