Locum Speech Therapist
- Perform comprehensive speech and language assessments for students using standardized clinical tools and internal evaluation frameworks.
- Create and implement customized therapy programs for individuals and groups based on identified needs.
- Contribute clinical expertise to the school's interdisciplinary Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Individual Transition Plan (ITP) processes.
- Deliver direct intervention in various environments, including classrooms, one-on-one sessions, and specialized work-experience settings.
- Maintain rigorous documentation of student progress and periodically review the impact of therapeutic interventions.
- Consult with and provide clinical updates to families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary school staff.
- Liaise with external healthcare partners, including hospitals and private specialists, to enhance student support services.
- Collaborate with management to draft and refine departmental policies and operational procedures.
- Manage accurate and up-to-date student case files and related clinical reports.
- Facilitate workshops and professional learning sessions for school employees and parents.
- Execute screening assessments for potential new enrollments to determine placement suitability.
- Conduct home visits as required to support student progress in a domestic setting.
- Participate in school committees and contribute to the planning of curriculum and major school events.
- Oversee the inventory, maintenance, and procurement of therapeutic equipment and resources.
- Support the development and monitoring of the department's annual budget.
- Engage in staff meetings and professional development sessions to stay informed of school planning and industry trends.
- Provide clinical guidance to therapy assistants to ensure high-quality support for student interventions.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Speech & Language Pathology.
- Must be a Fully Registered AHPC ( Singapore )
- Prior clinical experience in an educational or school-based environment.
- A strong commitment to working with children, youth, and their families.
- Proven ability to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Project Details
- Period of engagement: July to end November 2026, excluding public holidays, school holidays, and school event days
- Working days: 3 PM days per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
- Working hours: 1pm to 5 pm (4 hours)
