LOCUM OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (PART TIME)

Scope and Types of Service

Direct Services

. Initial Assessment upon admission to Home, assessment and treatment of elderly clients with Dementia, Stroke, Fractures and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.

. Tailored treatment programme for each individual client.

. Treatment and consultation services for all clients.

. Recommendations for adaptive equipment for enhancement of functions.

. Small group activities with involvement of volunteers.

. Recommendation & Fabrication of splints.

. Wheelchair prescription and modifications.

. Assistive devices - prescription and modification.

Consultation

. Referrals to other professionals.

. Multidisciplinary collaboration with other professionals pertaining to treatment.

Training

. Regular on-job-training for therapy assistants and staff.

. Talks and in-service training for all staff on therapy issues.

. Talks for Volunteers.

. Training of volunteers for assisting therapy aides in implementing treatment.

Others

. Outings for clients.

. Maintaining regular reports and records.

. Consultation on setting up and planning & supervising therapy programs.

Requirements/Qualification

. Degree in Occupational Therapy

. Holds valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. For individuals exempted from BCLS, a medical exemption memo, and valid BCLS (Theory) certification are required.

. Holds valid full/ conditional registration occupational therapist practising certificate from the Allied Health Professionals Council.

Salary range: $65 - $70 per hour
