What You Will Get To Do:
The Associate Director – Loan Operations is a leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, end-to-end loan servicing across alternative credit strategies. The role is fundamentally operations-led, with accountability for BAU delivery, team leadership, and a well-controlled operating environment.
In addition, the position drives process improvements and supports business growth initiatives, acting as a key bridge between operations, clients, and commercial teams.
Loan Operations Delivery & Team Leadership (Primary Focus)
End-to-End Operations Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end loan lifecycle across onboarding, funding, servicing, and repayment activities
- Approve credit agreements, trade documentation, and loan notices, ensuring accurate interpretation and system capture
- Oversee execution of loan-related transactions, including drawdowns, repayments, fees, and borrower communications across a range of facility types
Controls, Data & Risk Management
- Own the control environment supporting loan operations, including data integrity, reconciliations (cash, positions, accruals), and transaction processing
- Lead audit engagement and ensure a well-governed operating framework
- Identify, escalate, and mitigate operational risks arising from BAU activities
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for clients and internal stakeholders
- Lead client interactions, queries, and due diligence processes
- Partner with deal teams and legal/compliance to support transaction execution and ongoing servicing
Team Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and develop the loan operations team (hiring, coaching, performance management)
- Set clear accountability for delivery quality, timelines, and client service
- Provide oversight and challenge team outputs, ensuring consistent standards
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Operational Efficiency & Transformation
- Identify and execute improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and operating model effectiveness across loan operations
- Lead or support workflow optimisation, automation, and system enhancement initiatives
- Simplify and standardise processes to improve consistency and reduce operational risk
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Technology, and FA teams to embed best practices and scalable solutions
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the operating model
Business Development & Client Support
Sales & Growth Enablement
- Support business development initiatives, including client pitches, presentations, and RFP responses
- Translate operational capabilities into client-focused solutions and scalable service models
Client & Commercial Support
- Contribute to platform demonstrations, onboarding of new clients, and expansion into new asset classes or jurisdictions
- Provide operational input into pricing and commercial structuring
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent is a plus.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in loan operations within fund administration, private credit, banking, or trusteeship.
- Deep technical knowledge of loan structures, including bilateral, syndicated, PIK loans, revolvers, bridge loans, distressed debt, and mezzanine.
- Hands-on experience with loan servicing systems such as Allvue, Solvas, ClearPar, Investran, eFront, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, including closed‑end funds, open‑end credit funds, and private debt vehicles.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and high-touch client relationships.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Track record in ensuring accurate and timely loan processing and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain robust internal controls with minimal errors or audit findings.
- Focus on client satisfaction and building operational trust.
- Commitment to team development, low turnover, and efficiency gains through process improvements and automation.
