The Derivatives Clearing Client Facing Middle Operations team supports the post-trade activity of Societe Generale's ETD & FX business and services servicing clients including Banks, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers and Corporations.
This role is based in Singapore and reports to the Head of Prime Services Clearing Operations &Technology in Singapore.
Market coverage: Global ETD markets
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
- ResponsibleExchange and client margin, collateral and cash management activities
- Responsible for daily client money reconciliations & controls for APAC exchanges and ensure compliance with the regulations of the relevant jurisdictions
- Responsible for trade break management, position and expiries management and regional regulatory reporting.
- Lead business, exchange or regulatory initiatives & ensure smooth implementation & in compliance with relevant client money rules
- Oversight of outsource functions managed out of SGGSC outsource center
- Act as first level of escalation point for client & exchange/broker operational activities and /or queries, including with the business
- Enforce controls and supervision on the production of offshore teams as required, identify gaps and implement action plans to improve the control environment of the department to minimize Operational Risk.
- Perform investigation for proper resolution &/or direct them to appropriate teams as appropriate.
- Is an expert of client & exchange setup and onboarding specifics and work closely with Business relationship teams
- Develop an expertise of the Societe Generale business and organization, as well as the general Clearing business to have an adequate understanding of the business and the supporting platform.
- Participate to regular governance with business relationship teams for client review with pre-defined/agreed matrices, in respect of service quality, trades breaks, margin call compliance & any specific operational pain points
- Cover Follow The Sun protocol for inbound clients, regional/global exchange markets
- Challenge status quo, offer improvements and insights to deliver additional value to clients / improve the Societe Generale servicing as part of continuous improvement culture (Propose ideas and observe a collaborative mindset)
- Report and escalate significant issues and blocking points to department manager on a timely manner.
- Cover for any other activities as the need arises to back up team members in a pro-active and professional manner
- Cross train with teammates regularly and ensure effective communication/handovers of client problems among team members
- Maintain up to date procedures of the tasks covered, and make sure to adhere to the Group policies and exchange rules as appropriate
KEY SKILL AREAS &KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- At least 10 years experience in clearing, treasury,cash management and ETD margin, collateral & revenue activities. Strongknowledge in the relevant client money rules in APAC & EMEA. Knowledge ofETD market sector is a must.
- Good organisation skillset
- Good interpersonaland communication skills, sense of service, and flexibility are essential requirements
- Fluent in written and spoken English. OtherAsian languages will be an advantage (Japanese, Korean, Chinese)
- Ability to work effectively and efficientlyunder pressure
