Role:Linux Administrator OCP Migration & Baremetal Engineering
JD:
We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator with proven expertise in OpenShift Container Platform OCP migration from VMware virtual machines to baremetal servers The ideal candidate will have strong skills in baremetal cluster engineering advanced Linux administration and a solid understanding of networking and Oracle environments
Key Responsibilities
OCP Migration Implementation
o Lead and execute migration of OCP clusters from VMware virtualized environments to baremetal infrastructure
o Design and implement baremetal cluster architecture ensuring scalability performance and security
o Develop automation scripts and tools for deployment and configuration management
Linux Administration
o Install configure and maintain UnixLinux servers RHEL
o Manage and maintain enterprisegrade Linux systems RHEL preferred
o Perform system hardening patching and troubleshooting for highavailability environments
o Optimize system performance and resource utilization
o Collaborate with application teams to support deployments upgrades and system migrations
Networking Infrastructure
o Configure and manage network components for baremetal clusters switches VLANs routing
o Ensure secure and efficient network connectivity between OCP clusters and enterprise systems
Oracle Integration
o Support Oracle database deployments and integrations within Linux and OCP environments
o Collaborate with DBAs to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Documentation Best Practices
o Create detailed technical documentation for migration processes architecture designs and operational procedures
o Establish best practices for cluster management and disaster recovery
Required Skills Qualifications
Technical Expertise
o 5 years of experience in Linux system administration RHELCentOS preferred
o Proven handson experience with OpenShift Container Platform OCP including cluster setup and migration
o Strong knowledge of baremetal server provisioning and cluster engineering
o Proficiency in networking concepts TCPIP VLAN DNS firewalls
o Familiarity with Oracle database environments and integration on Linux
Tools Technologies
o Experience with Ansible Terraform or similar automation tools
o Knowledge of VMware virtualization and migration strategies
o Scripting skills Bash Python
Soft Skills
o Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
o Ability to work independently and lead complex projects
o Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field
Red Hat Certified Engineer RHCE or equivalent
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration beyond OCP
Exposure to enterprise security and compliance standards
5 years of handson experience in UnixLinux system administration
3 years of handson experience with OpenShift Container Platform
3 years of experience in automation
