Linux Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MidSeniorlevel Unix Administrator with strong VMware expertise to join our environment build and infrastructure operations team The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering maintaining and optimizing Unix/Linux systems as well as managing virtualized environments on VMware vSphere This role requires experts with handson technical skills the ability to work independently on complex issues and strong collaboration with crossfunctional teams in an enterprise environment

Key Responsibilities

Install configure and administer Unix/Linux servers, primarily RHEL in production and non-production environments

Manage and support VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server clusters resource pools, and virtual networking

Perform system monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning for Unix/Linux and VMware platforms

Implement and maintain security hardening, patching and compliance standards CIS STIG internal controls

Troubleshoot complex hardware OS, virtualization, networking and storage issuesincluding applicationtodatabase connectivity problems

Manage file systems storage allocations, disk partitioning LVM configurations volume expansions and mountpoint restructuring

Automate operational tasks using Bash Python Perl or configuration management tools Ansible preferred

Maintain and improve backup snapshot and disaster recovery strategies for Unix and VMware environments

Partner with application database and DevOps teams to support deployments upgrades and system migrations

Document architecture configurations SOPs and troubleshooting procedures

Participate in oncall rotation and provide afterhours support when required

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field

5 years of handson experience in UnixLinux system administration

3 years of handson experience with VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter

Strong understanding of networking concepts TCPIP DNS NFS etc

Experience with storage systems SANNAS and backup solutions

Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes

Preferred Qualifications

VMware Certified Professional VCP certification

Linux Administration Certification eg RHCSA RHCE

Experience with Kubernetes containers or cloud platforms AWSAzure is a plus

Provide a virtualization and containerization solution using VMware and Red Hat OpenShift

Expert in support and troubleshooting for critical system issues

Coordinate with the development team and architects to facilitate continuous integration and delivery pipeline

Adhere to industry standards and best practices

Qualification

Worked on the Linux platform

Experienced as full stack developer with a strong background in tool integration

Experienced in programming languages and frameworks such as HTMLCCS JavaScript, Java Python Nodejs Angular, etc

Familiarity with database MYSQL MongoDB webserversApache and UIUX design

Hands-on experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management

Experienced with OpenShift for container orchestration and management

Experience in VMware infrastructure and its integration with physical and cloud environments

Knowledge of scripting, such as shell
