Job Summary:
The Line Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the liner shipping operations. This role involves ensuring efficient vessel operations, optimizing cargo bookings, negotiating freight rates, and building strong relationships with shipping lines and key stakeholders to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
.Develop and manage relationships with shipping lines, carriers, and other key stakeholders to secure competitive freight rates and service agreements.
.Oversee the daily liner shipping operations, including vessel scheduling, space allocation, and cargo coordination.
.Optimize cargo bookings and maximize vessel utilization to ensure profitability.
.Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
.Negotiate and manage contracts with shipping lines and ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
.Work closely with internal teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of shipments..Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
.Address and resolve operational issues, including cargo delays, disputes, and service failures.
.Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality in liner operations.
.Prepare and present reports on key performance metrics, financial results, and operational performance to senior management.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
.Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in liner shipping, freight forwarding, or maritime logistics.
.Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, freight pricing, and contract negotiations.
.Proven track record in managing relationships with shipping lines and carriers.
.Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
.Strong leadership and team management abilities.
.Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
.Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
.Proficiency in both English and Mandarin language, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications:
.Experience in Southeast Asia trade lanes and global shipping networks.
.Knowledge of digital freight solutions and emerging trends in logistics technology.
.Fluency in multiple languages is an advantage.
