Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate with BD the client's technical requirements and feedback where there are

technical issues e.g. clash with local codes, traffic analysis not meeting standard, etc.

  • Support BD on the engineering aspect in new projects / modernisation / LRP projects.
  • Support BD to check on tender docs and drawings. In charge of the technical specifications

portion of the tender doc.

  • Support BD on Quality parameters of PQM in Lift Tenders including analysis / review of

tender results (quality portion).

  • Check Design Proposal from BLT (including design data, parameters and engineering

calculations) against compliance to local codes and local common practices.

  • Check Consultant's design to ensure that design related to lift installation is code compliant

and does not affect operation and maintenance of EM Lifts.

  • Support Project Team on technical issues during project planning, drawing or installation

stages and where necessary attend meetings with consultants and main con.

  • Check all shop drawings (including engineering calculations) produced by BLT to ensure

compliance to local codes / common practices and client's requirements.

  • Check and Approve parts listing (quality assurance on material and design of parts) during

Project Execution Stage.

  • Ensure that drawing details of parts are available from Lift OEM for compilation into parts

database for spare parts documentation control.

  • Gatekeep on Project Team's proposed installation methodology and approach, detailed

checks on mock-up lift and propose improvement where necessary.

  • Approve Engineering Design Change.
  • Gatekeep on T&C to ensure completeness of T&C before lift put into operation.
  • Carry out handing over inspection after completion of project together with LP and LM reps

and provide inputs to Defects List.

  • Carry out audit checks where necessary during installation process.
  • Monitors reliability of parts and components; identify the 20-80 common faults and

recommend improvement on procurement of parts.

  • Perform data analytics on lift faults data (raw + clean-up), investigate root causes and

assist LM team to eradicate occurrence of similar faults.

  • Carry out investigation to identify root causes from complaints of existing lifts (e.g. noisy

operations, rusty ropes, etc.) and where necessary assist to formulate solutions.

  • Conduct QC acceptance checks on parts delivered; set up jigs for testing of parts.
  • Assess quality of parts from various suppliers and carry out lab test on parts where

necessary; and make recommendation to eliminate suppliers of unfit parts.

  • Carry out independent audit checks on supplier's manufacturing quality where necessary.
  • Carry out periodic independent audit spot checks on maintenance quality where necessary.
  • Update Lift Team of new regulations / practices and timeline for compliance; liaise with

authorities where necessary.

  • Conduct sharing sessions with Lift Team on Quality matters e.g. improvement to be made

to process / material, etc.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in Lift and Escalator systems.
  • Electrical Engineer preferred, with a valid LEW License
