Job Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of guests in the events of emergency
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required till the arrival of emergency medical services
- Ensure PPE (personal protection equipment) is being used when performing First Aid on guest
- Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports
- Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of guest service
- Ensure that the Pool Environment is kept clean and well-maintained
- Maintain a high standard for the appearance and cleanliness of the pool, the pool deck area, and the turnstiles
- Work closely with Pools & Recreation Management team and other related departments to ensure guests requests are followed through
- Be conversant with closure operations process during inclement weather conditions
- Be conversant with all facets of the Pools & Recreation operations including fire safety and emergency related procedures
- Monitor activities in the SkyPark and report any suspicious characters, items or/and activities to the Manager
- Maintain close liaison with all other Departments to have a good understanding of other Departments operational flow, thus ensuring seamless guest experiences
- Be familiar with the local community and major events in town so that recommendations can be made to guests to enhance their stay in MBS and Singapore
- Be aware of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) and practice safety guidelines
- Adhere to departmental and organizational benchmarking standards
- Attend training sessions as and when scheduled
- Perform administrative duties as requested such as filing of reports
- Attend scheduled departmental meetings and daily briefings as required
- Contribute ideas to improving the operations of Pools & Recreation
- Contribute towards department goals
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by Management
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
- Secondary education preferred
- Basic lifesaving 1 to 3 certificate
- Bronze Medallion certificate
Experience
- Prior experience working in hotel or resort is an advantage
Other Prerequisites
- Willing to work various shifts, including mornings and afternoons, as well as on public holidays
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
- Knowledge of CPR & emergency medical procedures
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Good command of spoken and written English for communicating with guests and reporting purposes
- A team player and takes initiative to assist other Team Members when required
- Have impeccable follow-through; and Can Do attitude and mindset
- Well-groomed and professional disposition
