Job Description

Life Planner is a dedicated financial planning professional responsible for helping clients achieve financial confidence and retirement readiness through holistic, goals-based financial planning, reporting to Head, Retirement Advisory & Solutions.

As a pure-advisory specialist, Life Planner provides independent and needs-based advice across retirement planning, wealth accumulation, protection, investment strategies, and legacy planning. The role works collaboratively with Relationship Managers and Insurance Specialists to ensure clients receive objective financial planning guidance before exploring suitable financial solutions.

Life Planner enhances the overall client experience by delivering personalised, comprehensive, and unbiased financial advice that supports clients in achieving their long-term financial goals.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Advisory

  • Conduct comprehensive Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) to understand clients financial goals, life priorities, risk appetite, and retirement readiness.
  • Develop personalised financial plans covering:
  • Protection Planning
  • Investment Planning
  • Retirement Planning
  • Wealth Accumulation
  • Estate & Legacy Planning
  • Identify financial gaps and opportunities through structured planning conversations.
  • Guide clients on financial options and alternatives to support informed decision-making.
  • Educate clients on retirement income strategies, CPF-related considerations, wealth transfer concepts, and financial preparedness.

Client Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships through professional, transparent, and empathetic interactions.
  • Deliver holistic advisory experiences aligned to clients life goals and aspirations.
  • Conduct regular financial plan reviews to ensure recommendations remain relevant as clients circumstances evolve.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client needs, discussions, recommendations, and outcomes.

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers and Insurance Specialists to establish a shared understanding of clients financial needs and objectives.
  • Provide planning insights and recommendations that facilitate appropriate solution discussions.
  • Participate in joint client engagements where specialist financial planning expertise is required.
  • Serve as an in-house subject matter expert on retirement and holistic financial planning.

Governance & Compliance

  • Complete Financial Needs Analysis (FNA), Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA), Investment Risk Profile (IRP), and other required assessments.
  • Ensure all advisory activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
  • Uphold high professional and ethical standards in all client engagements.

Requirements:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Retail Banking, Insurance Advisory, or related client-facing financial services roles.
  • Proven experience in conducting comprehensive financial planning conversations and needs-based advisory engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement, investment, protection, estate and legacy planning, wealth accumulation, and risk profiling, with hands-on experience conducting Financial Needs Analysis (FNA), Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA), and Investment Risk Profiling (IRP).
  • Mandatory certifications: CMFAS M5, M6, M9, and HI. CFP, AEPP, CPF-related, or other relevant financial planning certifications are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills with a client-centric, consultative approach.
