Job Responsibilities
- Conduct collection management activities across multiple Library locations.
- Retrieve library materials based on assigned work lists and established procedures.
- Verify physical library materials against records in the Library Management System (LMS) and update LMS records and project documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify and report discrepancies, including missing items, incorrect locations, mis shelved materials and catalogue inconsistencies.
- Check and maintain the accurate arrangement of library materials according to the Library of Congress Classification.
- Pack, transport, relocate and re shelve library materials safely using book trolleys and other equipment.
- Maintain project records and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure work areas, library collections and storage areas are organised, tidy and safe.
- Comply with workplace safety procedures while handling library materials and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with library staff, Student Assistants, and outsourced workers to complete assigned project activities.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the reporting officer.
Qualifications and Competencies
Essential
- GCE O Level, NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfortable carrying out hands on operational work throughout the workday, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing loaded book trolleys.
Work Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8.30 am to 5.45 pm.
- Friday: 8.30 am to 5.15 pm
- Lunch: 45 minutes
Additional Information
- Deployment across multiple Library locations may be required based on operational requirements.
- This is a fully campus-based position (No WFH arrangements).
- The role involves extensive hands-on work with physical library collections throughout the workday.
