Job Description

Role:Level 2 (L2) Application Support Engineer – Core Banking

Location: Singapore

Employment Type: Contract (12 Months, Extendable)

Start Date: July 2026

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced L2 Application Support Engineers to provide production support for Core Banking applications. The role involves incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, batch monitoring, deployment support, and collaboration with development and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 production support for Core Banking applications.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents and service requests.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
  • Monitor application health, batch jobs, and EOD/BOD processes.
  • Execute deployment validation and rollback activities when required.
  • Write and execute SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation.
  • Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and business teams.
  • Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Prepare operational reports and participate in service review meetings.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Experience supporting production applications.
  • Understanding of batch processing and application monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Middleware and API Gateway (preferred for senior roles).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience Requirements

Senior L2 Support Engineer (6–9 Years)

  • Strong production support experience in Java-based applications.
  • Expertise in incident management, RCA, SQL troubleshooting, and stakeholder coordination.

Mid-Level L2 Support Engineer (4–6 Years)

  • Experience in application support, incident resolution, SQL validation, deployment support, and batch monitoring.

Junior L2 Support Engineer (1–3 Years)

  • Experience supporting application operations, batch job monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Core Banking or Banking Technology environments.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong teamwork skills.
