  • Provide legal support and advice for Traveloka's international operations across all jurisdictions where it operates, with primary focus on Australia, South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including partnership, procurement and distribution agreements.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, licensing, and consumer protection matters relevant to the travel and e-commerce sectors.
  • Support cross-border projects, new market entry, and business initiatives from a legal risk and structuring perspective.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and global legal, compliance, and business teams on cross-functional matters.
  • Monitor, interpret, and advise the business on legal and regulatory developments affecting operations in these and other relevant jurisdictions, proactively advising the business on emerging risks and compliance obligations.
  • Work closely with the HR team on employment matters, including sensitive employee-facing situations that require sound judgment and a high degree of empathy.
  • Manage and coordinate with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
  • Assist with dispute resolution, regulatory inquiries, and other legal matters as they arise.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 6-8 years of progressive legal experience, including a mix of law firm and in-house experience. Prior experience in the travel, e-commerce or payment industry is an advantage but not required.
  • Exposure to one or more of the target markets (Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines), whether through in-house roles, private practice, or secondments.
  • Solid grounding in multi-jurisdictional regulatory matters, including at least one of: employment law, corporate/entity management, consumer protection, or sector-specific licensing. Experience engaging directly with regulators or government authorities is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in English; proficiency in Korean is an advantage but not required as this role deals with the Korean speaking market.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders and external counsel.
  • Familiar with AI tools to assist day-to-day legal work (e.g., contract review, research or drafting assistance).
