Position Overview
We are seeking hands-on Legal Counsel with strong expertise in Singapore law, regulatory matters and gaming or the internet industry to support our growing business. This role is suited for a pragmatic, business-oriented lawyer who can operate independently from day one, providing practical legal advice and solutions to cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate brings solid in-house experience in technology, gaming, the internet, or other fast-evolving digital industries, with strong ownership and commercial judgment. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment, and have genuine curiosity about products, player experience, and how legal enables business innovation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to support day-to-day operations of the company's gaming business in Singapore and the region.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including publishing, licensing, platform partnerships, service agreements, vendor contracts, and marketing collaborations.
- Work closely with product, operations, marketing, and community teams to identify legal risks early and provide solutions that enable product launches and business initiatives.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance matters relevant to digital products and online services, including data protection (PDPA), consumer protection, advertising, and other applicable regulations.
- Provide hands-on legal support for new projects, product features, and market initiatives, helping teams navigate legal considerations in a practical and timely manner.
- Support the company in managing regulatory interactions, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks as the business scales.
- Coordinate with external counsel when specialized advice is required, while maintaining ownership of legal issues internally.
- Contribute to the development of internal legal policies, contract templates, and compliance processes to improve operational efficiency.
Key Requirements
- 610 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally combining reputable law firm training with meaningful in-house experience.
- Prior experience supporting technology, gaming, internet platforms, digital services, or similar fast-paced industries is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and provide practical legal solutions, with strong ownership and a hands-on approach.
- Solid knowledge of Singapore corporate, commercial, and regulatory law, including contract negotiation, compliance, and risk management.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with a startup mindset and solutions-oriented approach.
- Professional proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with headquarters and cross-border teams.
- Genuine interest in the gaming, technology, or internet industry, including curiosity about products, player experience, community operations, and industry trends is preferred.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts into clear, commercially practical advice.
