Responsibilities
- Based in Singapore, the role will be a key support to the project, business and procurement teams that oversee key infrastructure projects for the Company.
- Negotiate, draft and review Commercial and large-scale infrastructure project contracts (eg. D&B, EPC, EPCM, civil engineering construction, MEI and procurement contracts).
- Providing legal support and advice throughout the entire life cycle of large-scale infrastructure projects bidding/ tendering, contract negotiation and execution phase of large-scale infrastructure projects (eg. responding to variation and extension of time claims).
- Research and analyze business and legal issues.
- The chosen candidate will need to operate as a business partner and proactively manage issues in support of business strategy.
- You will be part of the international legal team headquartered in Singapore.
- You will be tasked to ensure that the group's legal policies are implemented and aligned in the regions where legal support is provided by you.
Requirements
- Years of experience
- Minimum 7 years PQE (i.e. law degree).
- Qualifications e.g. education, advanced certifications
- LLB or equivalent.
- A Singapore qualified lawyer.
- Knowledge, skills and competencies
- Experience in drafting and negotiating large-scale infrastructure project contracts (eg. civil engineering, MEI, construction and procurement contracts).
- Familiarity with international standard form infrastructure contracts (eg. FIDIC, JCT, NEC contracts).
- Experience in handling infrastructure project disputes/ claims and dispute resolution processes (eg. adjudication, FIDIC Dispute Adjudication Boards, expert determination, arbitration, court).
- Experience in working on large-scale projects in the SEA region will be a plus (eg. Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English. Bahasa and/or Mandarin would be a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills be articulate and concise in both verbal and written communications.
- Confidence and experience in identifying, managing and interacting with various cultures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent judgment, commercial acumen, and the sense to involve others who have the expertise to address issues, as required.
- Being comfortable in ambiguity, while consistently demonstrating good judgment, analytical skills, high integrity and confidence in expressing themselves to adapt to the rapidly evolving demands of the business.
