The role will require you to assist and co-create a legal clinic manual and legal guide with the legal team and to conduct legal research on employment and contractual issues on upcoming of new legislations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a Legal Clinic manual to list the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for both legal counsels and administrative staff to lock in institutional knowledge.
  • Develop a Legal Guide on common areas of the law encountered during the legal clinic, such as employment, contract, tort, family, wills and probate, enforcement of judgment orders, etc.
  • Conduct legal research on upcoming new legislation, such as the proposed Workplace Fairness Act, as well as areas of legislation under review by NTUC, such as the Employment Act and Industrial Relations Act.
  • Assist in legal research on employment and contractual issues.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team for the monthly Legal Clinic.

Requirements

  • Law undergraduates who have completed at least their first year of law school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Able to commit for 3 months
