Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Legal Support
- Provide legal support to corporate functions across multiple Asian jurisdictions (e.g. Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, India, Southeast Asia).
- Assist the Regional Head of Legal in project management initiatives to optimize the efficiency of local legal heads.
2. Contract Review & Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate Global or regional scope commercial agreements, including:
- NDAs
- Templates
- Ensure contracts comply with internal policies and local legal requirements.
3. Corporate & Governance Matters
- Support corporate governance for regional entities, including:
- Board and committee documentation
- Corporate filings and registers
- Support Regional Legal Head in corporate restructuring projects
- Ensure restructurings comply with internal policies and local legal requirements
4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Conduct legal research on local laws and regulations impacting the business (e.g.
- commercial law, data protection, competition law, AI law).
- Support regional compliance initiatives, policies, and risk assessments.
- Assist with implementation of global compliance programs at the regional level and Singapore level
5. Litigation & Dispute Support
• Help monitor claims, legal expenses, and case reporting for the Region
6. Legal Projects & Knowledge Management
- Participate in regional or global legal projects (e.g. process improvements, templates standardization, legal tech initiatives).
- Prepare legal training materials and presentations for local legal teams.
- Contribute to legal know-how databases and best practice sharing.
Profile & Qualifications
Education
- Degree in Law (or equivalent)
- Bar qualification or postgraduate specialization is a plus
Experience
• 0–2 years of experience (internships or first professional experience) in:
- Law firm (international/commercial practice preferred), or
- In-house legal department of an international company
