What You'll Do
As a Legal Entity Controller, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the financial integrity of multiple entities within a renowned fund management group.
- Oversee all aspects of finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and ensure accurate processing and recording of invoices within the accounting system.
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of new accounting systems by managing vendor sourcing, conducting thorough evaluations, presenting recommendations to stakeholders, coordinating user acceptance testing, and driving successful go-live transitions.
- Review and process employee claims submitted via SAP Concur, ensuring compliance with internal policies while providing clear guidance and support to employees regarding their submissions.
- Collaborate closely with business owners and employees to clarify charge codes on invoices and resolve any queries related to expense claims or system issues.
- Issue intercompany invoices accurately and manage the preparation or review of bank reconciliations to maintain precise financial records across all entities.
- Prepare or review comprehensive month-end reporting packages for overseas entities by liaising with external onshore bookkeepers and consolidating results for management reporting.
- Manage payments through banking portals by preparing or reviewing transactions before submitting them for approval in accordance with company protocols.
- Maintain oversight of all regulatory reporting requirements and compliance matters for licensed entities, ensuring timely submission of statutory filings and adherence to local regulations.
- Coordinate tax compliance activities including corporate income tax, GST/VAT filings, transfer pricing documentation, and support year-end audit processes by liaising with external auditors and preparing statutory financial statements.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects as required by the Finance Director, demonstrating flexibility in responding to evolving business needs.
What You Bring
To excel as a Legal Entity Controller in this esteemed organisation, your proven experience should encompass substantial exposure to finance operations within complex multi-entity environmentsideally gained in financial services or alternative asset management settings.
- You possess a recognised accounting qualification supported by 10 to 15 years relevant experience within the financial services or alternative asset management industry.
- Your background includes hands-on involvement in full-cycle accounting system implementationsfrom initial vendor identification through final rolloutwith proven success in UAT testing and stakeholder presentations.
- You demonstrate advanced knowledge of core finance operations including accounts payable/receivable processes, general ledger maintenance, invoice processing/reviewing, employee claims handling via SAP Concur, intercompany invoicing, bank reconciliations, and payment preparation using banking portals.
- You have practical experience overseeing regulatory reporting obligations for licensed entities as well as managing corporate income tax/GST/VAT compliance (including transfer pricing).
- Your track record includes effective collaboration with both internal teams (business owners/employees) and external service providers (bookkeepers/auditors), ensuring clarity around charge codes/policies while resolving queries promptly.
- You are comfortable preparing statutory financial statements for year-end audits and have successfully managed relationships with external auditors throughout the audit lifecycle.
- Experience dealing with cross-border transactions is essential; familiarity with bookkeeping requirements for India-based entities would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; exposure to Autocount Accounting System or SAP-Concur is considered beneficial but not essential.
- You are known for being meticulous when handling high transaction volumes while remaining versatile enough to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills enable you to interact effectively at all levelsboth internally across departments and externally with stakeholderswhile your organisational abilities ensure deadlines are consistently met.
