Legal Counsel (West, Logistics, Short notice preferred) AWS + VB

Job Responsibilities:

• Report to the Head of Legal and support the delivery of legal advisory services across the business, helping to identify and manage legal risks while promoting compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

• Provide legal support to business stakeholders on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, particularly those relating to logistics and supply chain operations.

• Prepare, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, logistics and warehousing agreements, third-party logistics (3PL) arrangements, procurement contracts, employment agreements, lease agreements, and other business-related documentation.

• Coordinate with external legal advisers by preparing instructions, consolidating relevant information, reviewing legal advice, and monitoring deliverables and timelines.

• Act as a liaison with the regional headquarters on legal matters, including corporate governance, statutory compliance, audit-related enquiries, and business initiatives.

• Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation by maintaining documentation, coordinating with external counsel, and working with relevant authorities where required.

• Support corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, business restructuring, company integration projects, intercompany agreements, and legal due diligence activities.

• Monitor compliance with applicable local and international laws and regulations, including those relating to customs, trade, transportation, and data protection, and assist in developing practical compliance measures and internal guidelines.

• Prepare legal updates, briefing materials, and meeting papers, and provide legal support for management or board meetings where required.

• Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting the business and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification.

• Approximately 2 to 4 years of post-qualification experience gained in private practice, an in-house legal team, or a combination of both.

• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts. Exposure to the logistics, transportation, supply chain, or related industries would be advantageous.

• Good understanding of corporate and commercial legal principles, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal support.

• Strong written and verbal communication, contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Able to manage day-to-day legal matters independently while recognizing when to seek guidance on more complex issues.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different business functions and international teams.
