Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary legal partner for global product launches and go-to-market strategies, identifying risks early in the development lifecycle and offering practical solutions.
  • Conduct targeted risk assessments on new initiatives, such as regulatory changes, product launches, or service enhancements, and develop practical, compliant solutions to address any legal challenges that emerge.
  • Lead the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts and user-facing agreements, including terms of service, privacy policies, and API terms.
  • Track and interpret complex, overlapping regulatory frameworks across target markets, specifically focusing on how shifting rules impact existing product lines and future roadmaps.
  • Drive the strategy and execution for securing and maintaining necessary operating licenses (e.g., VASP, EMI, or money transmitter licenses) across multiple global jurisdictions.
  • Translate upcoming legislative changes into actionable advice, ensuring the company adapts its operations and product offerings before new regulations are enforced.
  • Handle information requests and document production for both internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
  • Spot legal and operational vulnerabilities across the organization and create internal policies to standardize processes and limit corporate exposure.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 47 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally with an in-house background.
  • Solid understanding of crypto, payments, or financial services regulations is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience advising on product, regulatory, and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
  • Business-focused problem solver who can work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and turn complex legal risks into actionable advice.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; Chinese proficiency is highly preferred to communicate with Chinese speaking stakeholders.
