Legal Counsel, Wealth Management (8 12 PQE) - FinTech Group

We are partnering with a leading fintech group to appoint a Legal Counsel to join its regional legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to support a fast-growing business at the forefront of digital financial services, advising on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and product-related matters.

The role is particularly suited to candidates with experience in wealth management, retail banking, brokerage, or capital markets, gained either in-house or in private practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal support across the group's wealth management, brokerage, and retail financial services businesses.
• Advise on the development and launch of new financial products and services, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer-facing documentation, vendor contracts, and strategic partnerships.
• Partner closely with business, compliance, risk, and product teams on day-to-day legal and regulatory matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on changes impacting the business.
• Support cross-border strategic initiatives, commercial transactions, and regulatory projects across the region.
• Manage external counsel where appropriate and provide commercially pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 8–12 years PQE.
• Strong experience advising the wealth management, retail banking, brokerage, or broader financial services sector.
• Prior in-house experience within a financial institution or fintech platform is highly preferred, although outstanding candidates from top-tier private practice will also be considered.
• Familiarity with financial services regulation and commercial contracting.
• Commercially minded with strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
