Provide legal advice to the company on legal risks and implications of the company business.
Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and corporate governance standards.
Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements and board resolutions.
Identify and assess potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Conduct internal audits and compliance checks to ensure legal and regulatory adherence.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including management, business partners and operations teams to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks across all aspects of the company business.
Handle disputes, litigation and arbitration matters as they arise.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, external lawyers and external company secretaries when required.
Conduct training sessions for internal staff on compliance issues and changes in corporate governance requirements as necessary.
Stay abreast of changes in corporate laws and regulations globally and proactively advise the company on potential impacts and necessary actions.

Job Requirements:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB)/Business Administration/Professional Certification or equivalent.
Has at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within a corporate secretarial or legal firm.
Holding or currently pursuing corporate secretarial qualifications (SAICSA) would be advantageous.
In-depth knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience in handling corporate governance and risk management issues.
Proficiency in mandarin will be vital in this role to deal with mandarin speaking counterparts
