A leading Asia-Pacific digital infrastructure platform is seeking an experienced in-house lawyer to support the development of large-scale data centre projects across the region.
This is a front-end, asset-heavy role suited to a lawyer who enjoys working close to the business on complex, high-value developments involving land, power, construction and strategic partnerships.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior development, technical and commercial stakeholders and will play a key role in delivering data centre projects from site acquisition through to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support on greenfield and brownfield data centre developments across APAC
- Advise on land acquisition structures, options, conditional contracts and development agreements
- Lead legal input on EPC / D&B contracts, consultant appointments and construction-related documentation
- Support power procurement and grid connection arrangements, including interface with utilities and counterparties
- Advise on development joint ventures and partnerships with operators, investors and strategic partners
- Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Support resolution of construction issues, claims and disputes where required
- Work closely with internal development, technical, investment and asset teams to enable timely project delivery
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 8–15 years PQE (flexible for the right profile)
- Strong background in projects, construction, infrastructure or real estate development
- Prior in-house experience with a developer, infrastructure platform or data centre business is highly advantageous
- Alternatively, candidates from top-tier law firms with deep projects / EPC / infrastructure development experience will be considered
- Comfortable operating in a commercial, fast-moving environment with incomplete information and delivery pressure
- Experience in Asia-Pacific projects is preferred
