We are partnering with an international maritime organisation to appoint a Legal Counsel to support its global operations.
This role will cover a broad range of legal matters across maritime, commercial and corporate law, providing strategic legal support to business units worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on both contentious and non-contentious legal matters across global operations
- Provide legal guidance on maritime matters including charter parties, vessel sale & purchase agreements, and maritime incidents
- Support maritime insurance matters including P&I and Hull & Machinery coverage
- Establish and strengthen compliance frameworks covering sanctions, anti-bribery, corruption and antitrust regulations
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts such as vessel charter agreements, project contracts and procurement agreements
- Support corporate transactions including loans, joint ventures and M&A activities
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise on implications to business operations
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 6+ years of post-qualification experience in private practice and/or in-house
- Strong knowledge of maritime laws, offshore contracts, maritime insurance, and corporate law
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
- Ability to manage stakeholders across business functions
