Legal Counsel – Retail

Description

We are seeking a Legal Counsel with 3-6 years of experience to join our Retail team in Southeast Asia (SEA). The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Retail business and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to the Retail business in SEA
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, vendors, and other third parties
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, including consumer protection, data protection, and advertising laws
• Manage legal disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as necessary
• Stay up-to-date with changes in local laws and regulations that may impact the Retail business
• Provide legal training and guidance to the Retail team on legal and compliance issues

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law
• Admission to the Bar in SEA
• 3-6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a focus on Retail
• Strong understanding of local laws and regulations in SEA, particularly in relation to Retail
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot legal risks
• Fluency in English and at least one local language
