Legal Counsel - Renewables Energy & Infrastructure Firm
My client is a rapidly growing renewable energy and energy infrastructure platform focused on developing, financing, constructing and operating large-scale energy projects across the region, and we are recruiting for a Legal Counsel professional to be based in the Singapore office.
Responsibilities for this Legal Counsel - Renewables Energy & Infrastructure role
- Provide legal support across the full lifecycle of renewable energy and energy storage projects, from development through construction, financing, and operations.
- Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of EPC, O&M, equipment supply, procurement, construction, and other project-related agreements.
- Support project financing transactions, including the negotiation and review of financing documentation, security arrangements, direct agreements, and lender requirements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on project development matters, including land-related agreements, permitting, regulatory compliance, and commercial risk allocation.
- Work closely with business, commercial, project development, engineering, finance, and external legal advisers to facilitate successful project execution.
Requirements for this Legal Counsel - Renewables Energy & Infrastructure role
- Qualified lawyer with a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
- Approximately 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal function.
- Strong experience negotiating and drafting EPC contracts, construction agreements, project development agreements, and project financing documentation.
- Prior experience supporting renewable energy, power, infrastructure, battery storage, solar, wind, or other energy transition projects is preferred.
