Hawksman Technology is working with a leading global proprietary trading firm and hedge fund that deploys discretionary and systematic investment strategies across multiple asset classes. The firm is known for its research-driven approach, strong risk management culture, and long-term track record of success.
Role Overview
They are seeking a Legal Counsel to work closely with the General Counsel across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, corporate, and operational legal matters. This is a newly created role offering significant exposure to the business and the opportunity to take ownership of key legal workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, and trading documentation.
- Support licensing, regulatory filings, and entity maintenance matters.
- Monitor and advise on Singapore regulatory developments relevant to the business.
- Assist with corporate governance requirements and internal policy management.
- Provide legal support on employment and HR-related matters.
- Identify and communicate legal risks to internal stakeholders, offering practical solutions.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and summaries.
- Coordinate with external counsel and manage legal documentation.
- Maintain contract management systems and legal records.
- Support transactions, disputes, and ad hoc legal projects as required.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Singapore.
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience within a trading firm, hedge fund, asset manager, financial institution, or leading law firm advising financial services clients.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore regulatory frameworks and corporate governance requirements.
- Experience supporting licensing, regulatory, or entity setup matters is highly preferred.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Existing working rights in Singapore are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
