Role Overview
We are hiring a Legal Counsel to manage day-to-day regulatory, governance, and legal operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will handle hands-on compliance tasks, background checks, board administration, and routine contracts in a lean, fast-growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily MAS regulatory tasks, update policies, track filing deadlines, handle compliance software, and coordinate staff training.
- Review anti-money laundering and background checks for deals, partners, and investors, and escalate risks when needed.
- Organize board meetings, draft corporate resolutions, manage ACRA filings, and coordinate with external corporate secretarial partners.
- Draft and review routine contracts (like NDAs and vendor agreements), track deal documents, and manage signatures and contract records.
- Maintain internal checklists, manage legal technology platforms, and help improve governance operations as the business scales.
What We Are Looking For
- A good law degree with 4-6 years of legal and compliance experience in law firm, fund manager, financial institution, or related service provider.
- Good understanding of MAS regulations for licensed fund managers, including Singapore AML/CFT rules and corporate filing practices.
- Comfortable reviewing standard legal contracts (NDAs), managing background screening, and coordinating board meetings independently.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, pragmatic, and comfortable taking full ownership of administrative and operational duties in a small team.
