Legal Counsel IB - Global Markets APAC

Your role :

Are you a structured products lawyer Do you have a practical knowledge of equity and/or fixed income structured products We're looking for someone who fits the foregoing description to join our Singapore legal team for the Global Markets business to:

. provide documentation and negotiation support for Global Markets products and services across APAC, which covers transactions involving equities, credit, FX, rates, commodities etc

. advise on transaction structuring from a legal and risk perspective and provide input on transaction management and execution issues, considerations and requirements

. provide advisory support to business on pertinent legal and/or regulatory developments reputational risks, commercial and policy initiatives, projects and process improvements

. advise on new product approvals and trading arrangements

. manage outside counsel and ensure commercially effective solutions to client needs are expediently delivered with the quality required and within agreed budgets

. represent UBS at ISDA and other industry forums.

Your team :

You'll be working in the Investment Banking Global Markets legal team. We're responsible for advising our Global Markets colleagues on legal and regulatory matters related to the products, transactions and arrangements they offer our customers. So you could be covering equities or fixed income products in multiple locations in the region. We also work closely with our colleagues around the globe to make sure the advice and solutions we give to our businesses are consistent with and adhere to internal policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Your expertise :

. worked in a similar position before, whether in private practice and/or in-house

. qualified as a lawyer in Singapore, Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions with a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience

. excellent product knowledge across multiple asset classes

. experience in financial services regulatory framework in Singapore or Hong Kong

. experience working with senior leadership personnel on commercially sensitive matters
