Legal Counsel, Digital Assets & Derivatives – Leading International Bank

About the Role

A leading international bank in Singapore is seeking a Legal Counsel (2–7 PQE) for an 8-month contract to support its rapidly expanding digital assets and digital trading platform business, alongside its established derivatives practice.

The digital assets programme is scaling quickly, with the bank building institutional trading capability, onboarding clients, and forming relationships with liquidity providers and technology partners. This role sits at the centre of that growth and offers exposure to cutting-edge fintech initiatives within a global financial institution.

How will you make an impact in this role

Your role will include the following:

• Digital Assets Transaction Support: Draft and negotiate documentation for onboarding liquidity providers, clients and technology partners in relation to digital assets and digital trading of derivatives.
• Derivatives Legal Support: Provide day-to-day legal support across derivatives trading in traditional asset classes, including ISDA documentation.
• Regulatory & Governance Support: Monitor legal and regulatory developments in the digital assets space and contribute to internal policy papers and governance forums.
• Documentation & Template Management: Maintain and improve legal templates and documentation processes.
• Product & Country Governance: Provide legal sign-offs for new product initiatives and country governance documentation.
• Cross-Border Collaboration: Work across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders in a fast-paced and evolving regulatory environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2–7 years PQE with a recognised legal qualification (Commonwealth jurisdiction).
• Experience in derivatives, structured products, banking or financial services.
• Familiarity with ISDA documentation preferred.
• Interest or experience in digital assets, fintech or digital trading platforms is highly desirable.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and learning new areas quickly.
