Job Description

We are a globally recognised leader in the consumer-facing sector, driving expansion through selective partnerships and market entry initiatives. We are now seeking a dynamic and solutions-oriented Legal Counsel to join our Strategic Growth team. In this pivotal role, you will combine sharp legal expertise with strategic insight, enabling deals that support our longterm vision while safeguarding the organisation against risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide endtoend legal support for strategic transactions, including opportunity evaluation, partner structuring, and preparation of relevant transaction documentation.
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams to assess feasibility, identify risks, and craft legal solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead negotiations with partners and counterparties, striking a balance between commercial priorities and robust legal protections.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on assets and collaborators, surfacing issues such as ownership complexities, regulatory constraints, or other material risks; engage external counsel where appropriate.
  • Draft, review and refine transaction documents to ensure clarity, enforceability and alignment with company policy and applicable laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advise on evolving legal and regulatory landscapes relevant to crossborder and multimarket transactions, and recommend practical approaches to enhance execution efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues (where relevant) and act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on dealrelated matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of transactional legal experience, with a minimum of 3 years gained at a reputable law firm.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing complex transactions, with strong proficiency in drafting and amending agreements under tight timelines.
  • Sound business acumen: ability to translate legal considerations into clear, actionable guidance for nonlegal audiences and connect advice to overarching growth strategies.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills: collaborative approach, skilled in building trust with partners and internal teams; articulate in both written and spoken English.
  • Highly organised and detailfocused, with effective project management capabilities to handle concurrent transactions without compromising quality.
  • Preferred Background:

    • Previous inhouse experience supporting growthoriented functions such as corporate development, strategic projects is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in additional Asian languages (e.g., Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese) is an advantage, as the role may involve communication with regional stakeholders.
