Reporting to senior stakeholders, the In-House Legal Counsel will provide legal support across investment transactions, corporate matters, regulatory issues, and general commercial activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer seeking to transition in-house or broaden their existing in-house experience within the investment management sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on investment, corporate, and commercial transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documentation, including transaction agreements, confidentiality agreements, commercial contracts, and corporate documents.
- Support transaction execution processes, including due diligence, deal structuring, and completion matters.
- Coordinate and manage external legal counsel and other professional advisers where required.
- Assist with corporate governance, regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters.
- Support the business on day-to-day legal and operational issues.
- Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, and internal processes.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 2-5 years post-qualification experience.
- Experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal team.
- Strong background in corporate transactions, M&A, investments, or general corporate/commercial work.
- Exposure to cross-border matters would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in English; Chinese speaking is a plus.
